.
Last Tuesday, December 15th, was marked in the history of the Free Energy Market. Led by ALPHAINFRA, the first joint energy auction of São Paulo Cooperative Energy Distributors, CERIPA, CEMIRIM, CETRIL, CERVAM and CERIM, took place.
The auction sold 37.4 average MW and was won by CEMIG GERAÇÃO E TRANSMISSÃO SA. The process was conducted by the company ALPHAINFRA, which had already coordinated, last October, the joint auction of four cooperative energy distributors in Rio Grande do Sul when 27.2 average MW were negotiated in more than R$600 million in energy contracts.
Fernando Flach, CEO of the company, recalls that ALPHAINFRA structured seven auctions for cooperative energy distributors in 2020 alone, being a pioneer in the market when it designed the operation in the success case of COPREL in Ibirubá, the first licensee to migrate to the free market in Brazil when it purchased 32 average MW for a period of 17 years.
We outline the strategy based on economies of scale for this pool auction model. In practice, we see once again that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and the success of another auction is the result of teamwork and synergy with the stakeholders involved, especially through the partnership with FECOERSP, says Fernando Flach.
We are very satisfied with our expansion and motivated by ALPHAINFRA's growth prospects for 2021. In our view, innovation is not an area of the company but a value that must be disseminated within the organization to drive new projects, adds Flach.
